Drawing a Griffin

Step 1:

Starting this guide on how to draw a griffin, we will first draw the beast’s head and beak. It will be to give the contour a softer, lighter texture. We will also use curved lines that end in a pointed tip to give the faucet a pointed spout.

Finally, draw eyes on the face; then, we can finish this step by drawing two spiky feathers sticking out from the top of the head. Once all these have been drawn, we can move on to the second step of the guide.

Step 2:

We’ll add the creature’s front legs for the next part of your griffin drawing. As we mentioned, these will mostly be in the form of lion paws, but the ends will end in sharp claws. Use more jagged lines to create the rounded, smooth tops of the legs, as seen in our reference image. Next, we’ll use many small shapes that connect to create the griffin’s wrinkled paws, and finally, you can draw the clawed nails at the end.

Step 3:

Griffins are almost always depicted with vast and impressive wings, which we will draw in this step of our guide on how to draw a griffin. For now, we’ll draw the fronts of the wings. The first will extend upwards and backward from the base of the head, and, as seen in the reference image, its size will be pretty impressive.
