How to Grow Indoors in a Pot

If you’re looking for a plant to grow indoors, consider a mandarin orange tree. These tiny fruit are great for flavoring oriental dishes, or they can be used as a centerpiece for a sophisticated dinner. To grow your mandarin orange tree indoors, you need a large pot with well-draining soil. You can make this soil from vermiculite, sand, or peat moss.
Thyme can be grown indoors in a pot
Plant thyme seeds in a sterilized seed starter mix in a bright location that does not get too cold. Plant the seedlings about 2″ deep. Keep the container at about 70 degrees Fahrenheit and space the plants about 4 inches apart. Thyme seedlings germinate in 14 to 28 days. Once they are well-rooted, transplant them into larger pots or the ground.
Dracaena Limelight
Watering a Dracaena Limelight is relatively easy, as long as the soil is moist. During the summer, water it more than usual, and less during the winter. Depending on the soil, water it once every four to seven days. If the soil seems too wet, add some perlite or other well-draining medium. If you’re not sure what kind of potting medium to use, you can always experiment with a combination of these methods.
Dracaena Crepioides
If you have a dracaena in a pot, you can give it a little extra nutrition every now and then by adding a top dressing of plant fertilizer. Since dracaena is sensitive to too much nutrients, you may want to dilute your plant food by half and feed it only when it is growing. Avoid feeding during the winter as the plant will not be able to absorb any fertilizer or plant food. During the warmer months, you can repot the dracaena and add nutrients to the soil.
‘Cherry Belle’ radish
The best way to grow the Cherry Belle radish indoors is to start from seeds. This heirloom radish grows well in containers, such as hanging baskets, and is ready for harvest in about 22 days. Plant it in a sunny, well-drained spot and give it plenty of water. Once the plant is fully grown, it can be used in salads or as a garnish. Harvesting the radish when it is about 3/4″ across is important. The radish is pithy, so be sure to taste it before eating it.
Dracaena Silver Falls
Dracaenas grow to a height of twelve to six feet, but can be pruned to keep a more compact shape. Although they rarely flower indoors, they do grow long stalks of small blossoms. These plants grow well in temperatures ranging from 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit, with nights being at least 55 degrees F. They prefer moist, warm conditions and should be grown in distilled or purified water, since tap water contains fluoride salts and may cause the foliage to turn yellow.
Dichondra Silver Falls
Growing Dichondra Silver Falls indoors in a pot is easy, but it will take some extra care. Start with a seed starter mix. Place on a sunny windowsill and water daily. Depending on the growing medium, it may need to be watered up to three times a day. It will also need regular misting, so make sure to use a small spray bottle.
