Alien: Covenant
Ridley Scott is back with a new entry in his popular sci-fi horror franchise, Alien: Covenant. The movie will hit theaters on May 19. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: The sequel to Marvel’s 2014 surprise blockbuster hits theaters May 5 and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista as Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Gamora, and Drax, respectively. It’s directed by James Gunn (Slither).
Life: In director Daniel Espinosa’s Life, astronauts aboard an international space station find a rapidly evolving life form that could threaten Earth. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, and Ryan Reynolds, it opens on March 24.
War for Planet of Apes: Two years after Dawn of the Planet of Apes, War for Planet of Apes follows Caesar (Andy Serkis) as he leads his apes into war against an army led by Colonel McCullough (Woody Harrelson). War for Planet of Apes opens July 14.
Blade Runner 2049
October 6, 2017: We are getting a sequel 35 years after Ridley Scott’s original Blade Runner film came out. Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Rick Deckard, and Ryan Gosling will star alongside him as Officer K. The first trailer for Blade Runner 2049 was released at Comic-Con in July, and it looks incredible! I can’t wait to see what they have done with it! War for the Planet of The Apes: July 14, 2017: The third installment in the rebooted Planet of The Apes franchise is coming soon!
Andy Serkis returns as Caesar, who leads an army of apes against Woody Harrelson’s Colonel. Also starring Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, and Karin Konoval, War for the Planet of The Apes promises an exciting conclusion to a great series! Star Wars Episode VIII: December 15, 2017: Rian Johnson (Looper) has taken over directing duties from JJ Abrams on Star Wars Episode VIII.
The Dark Tower
Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey star in Stephen King’s dark fantasy series. The movie is expected to be released on August 4, 2017. War for Planet of the Apes: War for Planet of the Apes will conclude a trilogy that began with Rising of the Apes and continued with Dawn of the Planet of The Apes. Andy Serkis will reprise his role as Caesar, leader of an ape rebellion against humanity.
The movie is expected to be released on July 14, 2017. Blade Runner 2049: Thirty years after Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic Blade Runner was first released, its sequel hits theaters. Harrison Ford returns as Rick Deckard, along with Ryan Gosling and Jared Leto. The movie is scheduled for release on October 6, 2017.
Star Wars Episode VIII: Star Wars Episode VIII will continue where Star Wars Episode VII left off. It’s set for release on December 15, 2017.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
Based on a French comic book series, Valerian and Laureline follow two space-traveling agents as they work through a vast galactic federation. Directed by Luc Besson, Valerian and Laureline look like it has sci-fi written all over it: in addition to stars Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne, Besson’s cast includes Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke, and Rutger Hauer—not bad for an original sci-fi flick!

The sequel to one of sci-fi’s most iconic films will star Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, and Robin Wright, as well as Dave Bautista, Jared Leto, and Ana de Armas. Release date: October 6, 2017.
Star Wars Episode VIII – The Last Jedi
The eighth episode in Lucasfilm’s space-operatic series. The story of Force-sensitive warrior Rey (Daisy Ridley) continues as she trains with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Directed by Rian Johnson, it is set for release on December 15. A third Star Wars Story film, centering on a young Han Solo and reportedly helmed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie), is also due for a 2018 release.
Ready Player One: Based on Ernest Cline’s 2011 novel of the same name, Steven Spielberg’s adaptation stars Tye Sheridan as Wade Watts, a teenager living in 2045. He spends most of his time logged into OASIS—an expansive virtual reality universe—with millions of other users. When OASIS creator James Halliday dies without leaving behind an heir, he announces that OASIS’s three hidden keys will grant OASIS control to whoever finds them.
