In an effort to find things to do when the quarantine was placed, my family and I decided to go on

vacation to the water park near Modesto CA, just hours from our home in Modesto CA. To our surprise, we were told by numerous families who had gone there before us that everything was open and usable! There were no long waits, and everything appeared to be clean. It was just a touch humid, so it would have been nice if they had windows or other ventilation.

Now, things are beginning to return to normal.

Where can you go?

Frisco Adventure Lodge is a water park that opened up for business today, despite many of its neighboring water parks still on lockdown from the California state health department. We are excited to be one of just a few places in California where people can go and enjoy themselves, an employee said. All rides are operational and ready to go. However, this particular park wasn’t as bustling as other parks because it was a day before school started. Still, some folks have already praised Frisco Adventure Lodge for its clear air and new rides (even though they admit they’re not huge ones). We were happy that we didn’t need our asthma inhalers today, a customer said while getting off the Superman Tower of Power ride.

How can you get there?

Easily accessible from I-5, exit on McHenry Ave. Make a left on 3rd Street West and then a right onto Villa Avenue. There’s parking in front of the water park, but there are also free street parking spots around the area. Once you get inside, there’s an entrance fee of $32 per person which includes access to all attractions including rides and water slides. They do have certain restrictions that go along with this which is what would make it hard for them to reopen before most other parks even closed for just a simple cooling break like this time period but they did their best to keep guests safe so we’ll see how it goes from here!

Post-quarantine updates

Post-quarantine, updates on what is going on at the water park are only a phone call away. They were one of the first places to open up and they have not run out of supplies. The park was great; all of our kids got rides and went in pools! It was just a touch humid, so it would have been nice if they had windows or other ventilation, but nothing that you can’t adjust in the moment.

A note from an ex-employee

The water park near Modesto CA is one of the only places open after California’s quarantine was enforced, and they are getting a lot of visitors. Though everything looks new and well-maintained, they have been experiencing some problems with extreme heat. They have taken extra precautions by stocking up on plenty of sunscreen, water, and cooling sprays for both visitors and employees alike. The last thing we want is for people to get sunburned or dehydrated.

Make sure to swing by if you are nearby if you have the chance!

The outdoor pools hours (opens later in the day & closes early)

The outside pools are open 10am-6pm and closed 8pm-10am. They’re open daily, but note that they close early and only stay open till 6pm. Sadly, this means that you can’t actually go swimming here at night like you would at most water parks. Still, they’ll provide hours of family fun before 8 pm.

Leaving your valuables in the car (they do have lockers available to rent)

Upon arriving, I was impressed with how expansive the park is. There are 10 rides total and many of them seemed pretty thrilling and up my alley, so it was hard not to get excited. As mentioned before, they had no line when we got there – but even if they did, getting on any ride takes less than a minute. Given that, it might be a good idea to leave any valuables in your car. They do have lockers you can rent for $10. This park also has many shaded areas that I would have appreciated more earlier in the day – which gave me an idea of what I will bring with me next time (a sweater or sweatshirt) just in case.
